Comedy portion of South by Southwest to take place from March 11 to March 18

AUSTIN, Texas – Comedy portion of South By Southwest will take place from March 11 through March 18. Over the week long festivities, it will feature: improv, panels, parties, podcasts, sketch comedy and stand-up comedy.
Up and coming, veteran and surprise comedians have performed at the festival. Constant Collaborators of South By Southwest include: Above Average, Comedy Central, Earwolf and Upright Citizens Brigade.

All badge holders are welcome to attend the comedy portion at South By Southwest, as well as wristband holders. However, wristband holders are welcome in select venues. For 2017, a new system for badges entry will be into motion. The badges for the festival include: film, interactive, music and platinum. Each badge level allows the attendees to network, learn and discover innovative ways to enjoy this year’s festival. Groups will be split into to two, primary and secondary, until capacity is reached.
Those who obtain the platinum badge will gain access to the film, interactive and music portion of South by Southwest. As well as: award shows, comedy, film screenings, music showcases, networking events and special programming. Film gives access to first entry to the film portion and secondary entry to interactive and music. Interactive provides primary entry to the interactives events and secondary admission to film and music. Music badges will allow those first to gain entry into the music portion and second to film and interactive. All badges gives access to exclusive services, special hotel rates and more. Sareth Ney is the journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Center for New Media from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
