THE VILLAGES, Fla.—Tanya Tucker will be exhibiting her talents at the Sharon L. Morse Performance Arts Center, on July 17. Her tour will begin at the Peppermill Concert Hall on April 24 in Wendover, Nev. and conclude on Oct. 31 at The Palladium in Carmel, Ind.
Tucker’s tour was her first one in three years, after taking personal time off away from the road. On March 28 and March 29, Tucker played shows in both Ill. and Ind. Both states welcomed her back with two sold out concerts back-to-back. The current run of the tour will last from spring until fall and it is scheduled to end on Halloween. However—more concerts dates will be added to the tour, as time continues on.
In 1972, Tucker made her debut and covered Alex Harvey’s “Delta Dawn”. She was 13 years old and it launched her music career. Since then, she is known for such country tunes including: “I’ll Come Back As Another Woman”, “Strong Enough To Bend”, “Soon”, “Texas (When I Die)” and “The Jamestown Ferry”. She plans on performing these songs live, while on tour and share a few stories behind them in the process.
After taking personal time off, Tucker spoke of the upcoming tour.
“I am so excited about the upcoming tour,” says Tanya Tucker. “Being in front of a live crowd is something that I feed off of. From the reception I felt from the first two dates, I think it’s definitely going to be a lot of fun returning to performing. I’ve missed the fans a lot.”
Senior Vice President and Partner and Head of Concerts Agency of the Performing Arts (APA) Nashville also spoke on behalf of Tucker. He spoke of how well her concerts and live performance go hand-in-hand.
“There is something electric about a Tanya Tucker performance. She’s one of the most legendary recording artists of all time. She’s not just singing the music. She’s lived these songs. Some sad. Some happy. But all throughout the show, she sings and performs as only Tanya Tucker can. Returning to the road is something we all are very excited about.”
