JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Big Ticket will be taking place indoors rather than outdoors, on Dec. 1. It will be moving from Metropolitan Park to Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena (300 A. Philip Randolph Blvd.). Tickets sold beforehand will be honored. Those who purchased very important (VIP) tickets will receive the perks as previously advertised. It is presented by X102.9 Jacksonville’s New Alternative, fueled by Monster Energy and produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. Additional sponsors include Founders Brewing Co.
The lineup of The Big Ticket consists of: The Lumineers, Walk The Moon, Bleachers, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Saint Motel, New Politics and Mondo Cozmo.
Wesley Schultz (vocals, guitar), Jeremiah Fraites (drums, piano) and Neyla Pekarek (cello, backing vocals) are the trio known as The Lumineers. “Cleopatra” is their latest record. It features 11 songs, including “Gun Song” and “Angela”.
Nicholas Petricca, Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman and Eli Maiman are the quartet known as Walk The Moon. Their album, “What If Nothing”, is available on Nov. 17. Their Press Restart Tour begins on Oct. 20.
Bleachers is the third effort of Jack Autonoff (Steel Train and Fun.). His latest release, “Gone Now”, and his previous was “Strange Desire”. His next tour stop is Koko in London, England, on Oct. 18.
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness’ new long play (LP) is “Zombies On Broadway”. The lead singles are “So Close” and “Fire Escape”. He is currently on tour in Japan and it will conclude in Calif.
“Saintmotelevision” was Saint Motel’s newest offering, in 2016. The lead-off single was “Destroyer” and featured 10 songs. Their upcoming expedition begins with a sold out show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, on Oct. 27.
“Plastic Soul” is Mondo Cozmo’s most recent project. He is currently on a nationwide trek. His fall/winter tour comes to an end on Dec. 3 at the Next Big Thing Festival 97x, in Tampa, Fla.
“Lost In Translation” by New Politics is available now. The stand-out tracks are “Color Green” and “One Of Us”. After performing at The Big Ticket, they will perform at Riptide Festival and X107.5 Holiday Havoc.
