Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena to welcome The Comedy Get Down

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Comedy Get Down will take up the stage at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, on Dec. 9. Cedric ‘The Entertainer’, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, George Lopez and Charlie Murphy are all set to perform. It is presented by Outback Concerts.
Cedric ‘The Entertainer’’s motion pictures credits in film and television include: “Barbershop”, “Intolerable Cruelty” and “Johnson Family Vacation”. His complete list of his works can be seen by clicking here. Owns A Bird and A Bear Entertainment, WHOCed hat line and founder of The Cedric The Entertainer Charitable Foundation. Through the organization 200 scholarships have been issued, in St. Louis.
Griffin celebrated 25 years of comedy. His cousin dared him to perform a three minute stand-up comedy routine, it lasted for 45 minutes and he headed out to Los Angeles for comedy. Film and television works followed including: “The Last Boy Scout”, “Coneheads”, “Jason’s Lyrics” and “Malcolm and Eddie”. A list of his works could be seen by clicking here.
Hughley is an actor, author, comedian, future pilot, dancer, host of ventures, original king of comedy, pontificator and recipient of 2013 Peabody Award for “The Endangered List”. His works can be seen here.
After being a telemarketer and manager for the Los Angeles Times, Hughley pursued comedy. He was chosen as one of the first hosts of BET’s “Comic View”.
Lopez co-created, wrote, produced and starred the television show “George Lopez”. His talk show, “Lopez Tonight”, lasted for two seasons. His HBO comedy special, “Tall, Dark and Chicano”, earned a GRAMMY nomination. He co-created “Saint George”, for FX. His film works included: “The Beverly Hills Chihuahuahua” series, “Rio” films, “Valentine’s Day” and more. His film credits could be found here.
Murphy spent the last eight years being an actor, writer, producing talent and performing stand-up comedy in front of sold out crowds around the world. His film and television works included: “Our Family Wedding”, “A Perfect Holiday”, “CB4”, “Jungle Fever”, “Mo’ Betta Blues”, “Harlem Nights”, “Vampire in Brooklyn” and “Chappelle’s Show”. Doors for The Comedy Get Down opens at 8 p.m. Prices for main floor seating are $88.75 and $28.50 each, club seating (lower level) are $64.75 each, lower level are $64.75 and $48.75 each, counter seating (behind last row of upper level) are $48.75 each and upper level are $48.75 each.
