ATHENS, Ga. – Bubbs Harris and Carlos Valencia’s “Here Comes Trouble Tour” will include Jerzees Sports Bar and Night Club, on March 19 at 9 p.m. It is presented by The Deadbeats of Comedy and will be hosted by Alia Ghosheh.
Valencia describes his comedy as “sharp-tongued, hilarious, intelligent, profane, silly, provocative, honest and off-kilter”. In the eyes of others, they described his material as “a comedy insurgent intent on subverting phony mainstream sensibilities and exposing hypocrisies with an arsenal of unapologetic observations and laugh-out-loud irreverence”. Patton Oswalt described his style as “a gorgeous level of hilarious wrong…”
Back alleys, boats, bowling centers, casinos, churches, colleges, comedy clubs, coffee shops, dive bars, diners, gay bars, heavy metal dives, hip-hop joints, jazz venues, military bases, prisons, punk rock clubs, redneck pubs, sex conventions and theaters were listed as locations Valencia performed comedy. He toured in 30 states and traveled around the country with Doug Stanhope and Tom Segura.
Harris was born on Sept. 15, 1981. On his professional Facebook page, he stated his personal interest was forcing his opinions on people through stand-up comedy and music journalism. He went onto state it had been “working out pretty good so far”.
Comedy, punk rock and metal were classified as the genres which described Harris’ style. He described his live shows as “the closest you will come to being in a mosh pit while watching standup”. “Aggressive”, “unfiltered”, “punk rock” and “funny” were terms used to describe his flair.
As part of the PMVN Media roster—Harris comedy album, “Here Comes The Trouble”, is due out in 2017. He is the founder of Deadbeats of Comedy.
Born and raised in Athens, Ga. – Ghosheh began her comedy career by photographing stand-up comedians and tagging them on social media. She hosted comedy at several venues throughout the city, before Jerzees.
Ghosheh can be heard on ncwzradio.com’s “Saturday Morning Funnies” with Puddin’ and The Shanster. She portrays Savannah, a native of Ga. Her character “is a redneck news reporter who reports real stories with a comedic commentary”. Her Facebook pages can be liked at the sites, Comic Strip Comedy Show and Comedy in Athens, Georgia. On Twitter, she can be followed at @GaComedy.
Every last Wednesday of each month, Ghosheh hosts comedy at Jerzees Sports Bar. Her shows feature one headliner and 10 other comedians. Admission to see Harris and Valencia’s performance will be $5 per person.
