ORLANDO, Fla. – The Glorious Rebellion rocked the foundation of Uncle Lou’s Entertainment Hall, on Dec. 7. Keagan Grimm with ToxSic Tony, Southern Fried Genocide and Kaupe were the opening acts. The Glorious Rebellion was the direct support and Demonf**k was the headlining act.
CJ Orazi is the bassist, Zack Mitchell is the drummer and Billy Myers III is the vocalist and guitarist of The Glorious Rebellion. Orazi provided backup vocals.
Prior to The Glorious Rebellion’s performance with “Have I Told You Lately That I Loathe You”, the trio turned on three sets of lights behind them. Mitchell stood on his drum throne, loosened the lightbulb under the light fixture above and caused the bars of light to be their source of illumination.
Myers III looked over to his bandmates and asked if they were ready. They responded by giving him a nod. The sound of Myers III’s guitar screeched through the speakers, as he removed his beanie and adjusted his hair. Mitchell rapidly struck his cymbal in the front and Myers III opened with the strumming of his guitar. Shortly, Orazi and Mitchell joined in. Later in the song, Orazi would assist with backing vocals. Every so often, he would have a bass solo and his bandmates would accompany him.
Before “Thanks to AA, I’m the DD”—Myers III wiped the sweat of his forehead with his beanie and an audience member wished Myers III a happy birthday. He thanked the spectators for attending his birthday party and admitted how he was old, while Orazi played bass. Members of the crowd wooed, as the tempo slowed down and Orazi performed.
During “Burn It Down, Lemon”—Mitchell stood up, grabbed his left cymbal and struck it his drum stick on multiple occasions near the beginning of the song.
As Mitchell hit his drums for the intro of “The Dirtiest Dream”, Myers III encouraged the audience to give a round of applause to everyone sharing the bill. His guitar would screech and Orazi joined them with his bass, as cigarette smoke continued to populate the venue. Orazi continued his assist with the backing vocals.
“This is Fine” brought The Glorious Rebellions portion to an end. An onlooker accidentally bumped into Orazi, as he played. After a pause and guitar screech, Myers III sang.
“Turn Around, Bright Eyes” and “My Resume is a Suicide Note” were also part of The Glorious Rebellion’s set.
