Tim Curry to appear at MegaCon Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tim Curry will make his MegaCon debut in Orlando. The convention will take place from May 25 through May 28 at the Orange County Convention Center. Curry is an actor, composer and producer.
Curry was born on April 19, 1946 in Grappenhall, Cheshire, England. After graduating from Birmingham University, his first professional success as a stage actor was in “Hair”. He went onto perform at the following theater companies: Royal Shakespeare Company, Glasgow Civic Repertory Company and Royal Court Theatre.
While at Royal Court Theatre, Curry created Dr. Frank-N-Furter for “The Rocky Horror Show”. In 1975, he continued to portray the character in Los Angeles and Broadway. The production went from stage to screen, was retitled “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and he depicted the character on screen. Other stage performances include: “Travesties”, “Amadeus’, “The Pirates of Penzance”, “The Rivals”, “Love for Love”, “Daliance”, “The Threepenny Opera”, “The Art of Success”, “My Favorite Year”, “Me and My Girl”. He received two Tony Award nominations and won a Royal Variety Club Award for “Stage Actor of the Year”.
As an actor in film and television, Curry’s career spans nearly 50 years. He has appeared in television series, television mini-series, television movies, short films, television shorts, provided voice-over works for cartoons and video games. Before his on-screen role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, he co-starred in a series of television programs including: “Television Theatre From…”, “Ace of Wands”, “ITV Sunday Night Theatre”, “Stage 2” and more. After “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”, he finished the 70s with: “Three Men in a Boat”, “Will Shakespeare”, “The Sunday Drama” and “Wings of Ash: A Dramatization of the Life of Antionin Artaud” and more.
In the 1980s, Curry co-starred in almost 20 projects such as: “Times Square” ,”Oliver Twist”, “Annie”, “The Ploughman’s Lunch”, “Video Stars”, “Blue Money”, “Legend”, “Clue”, “Ligmalion: A Musical for the 80s”, “The Worst Witch”, “The Creation”, “Pass the Ammo”, “Abel’s Island”, “Long Ago and Far Away”, “The Tracy Ullman Show”, “Wiseguy” and “Fantastic Max”.
10 works featured Curry, in 1990 such as: “The Easter Story”, “Gravedale High”, “Paddington Bear”, “The Hunt for Red October”, “The Adventures of Don Coyote and Sancho Panda”, “Wake Rattle & Roll”, “Tiny Toon Adventures”, “The Marzipan Pig”, “It” and “TaleSpin”. Countless more followed into the new century. His latest was “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again” as “The Criminologist – An Expert”.
