HOUSTON – Station Theater’s stage is set for the fourth annual Trill Comedy Festival, from Oct. 20 through 23. There will be over 100 performers and ten shows featuring: improv, sketch, stand-up, performance arts, variety and more. It is headlined by Michelle Wolf (“The Daily Show”) and Chicago’s 3Peat. The tickets are available for purchase, starting Sept. 20.
On Oct. 20, a series of improvised comedy begins the Trill Comedy Festival. Acts include: Feldman, Butter, Old Enough To Know Better and The Sleepover Boys. Butter represents Austin, Texas. The others hail from Houston and will begin at 7 p.m. Another set of improv acts follows, shortly after. Like-Minded People, Pure Inanimation, Menicus Unit and 2H Club performs at 9 p.m. and they are all from Houston.
Houston’s Microsatan’s are the only featuring sketch comedy act at Trill Comedy Festival, on Oct. 21. Improv troupes: Now Playing, Disco Eyes and Can’t Tell Us Nothing performs at the 7 p.m. show. Starting at 9 p.m.—Discharged, MAX, Denver and Supernova rounds up the improv performances. Josh & Steph’s Blanket Fort Party features five comedians from the U.S. and Canada. They are: Bret Whitacre, Anna Sankaran, Shane Clark, Ed Black and Chris Thayer.
Showcases featuring improv comedy kicks off the comedy shows, on Oct. 22. Starting at 7 p.m., the following troupes are set to perform: A Spike Lee Joint, No More Words, Squash Bananas, The Space Rhyme Continuum and Kismet. At 9 p.m.—Magical Lying Hour, Baby Knuckle and 3Peat will finish the improv performances. Beginning at 11 p.m.—Chicago’s Vik Pandya will be the opening act, Houston’s Andy Huggins will be the direct support and New York’s Michelle Wolf will headline the third day of Trill Comedy Festival.
Improv begins the last day of Trill Comedy Festival, on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. The Adventures of Lenny and Al, Let’s Eat, Ophelia’s Rope and Be Kind to Strangers will be providing performances. At 9 p.m.—stand-up comedy will be presented by: Son Tran, Andrew Youngblood and Zaeli Kane. The Stacks Podcast will also provide coverage at the event.
Workshops are also going to be present at the Trill Comedy Festival. Announcements for them will be made, later in Sept. Jessica Brown is in charge of public relations and marketing.
