Fourth Semi-Annual Singer/Songwriter Competition at White Lion Restaurant and Pub: semifinal round

St. Augustine, Fla. – The semifinal round of the fourth semi-annual singer/songwriter competition took place at the White Lion Restaurant and Pub, on Sept. 17. The top 19 artists from the two quarterfinal rounds (Sept. 3 and Sept. 10) faced off to determine which 10 would advance to the final round, on Sept 24.
Amy Hendrickson was the host. She thanked the venue, the judges for volunteering their time and spoke of what would be included in the grand prize. She stated a new addition would be a cover story through the local publication, “The Narrow”. She went onto joke a kitten was added too.
Laurel Lee, Caleb Joye, Denny Blue, Alex Peramas, Shea Birney, Aaron Sherman, Mike Cook and John Birney kick off the first portion of the semifinal round.
“That’s Not The Way To Go, Steve” and “Love You That Way” were part of Lee’s set. “Love Me, Leave Me” and “So Tired of Goodbye” were part of Joye’s set. “Train Train” and “How ‘bout You” were part of Blue’s set, “Let It Ride” and “Long Way Home” were part of Peramas’ set. “What Will Complete Us” and “Fragments of Soul” were part of Shea Birney’s set. “Tasteless” and “Eastward Traveling” were part of Sherman’s set. “Better Days” and “Tennessee Whiskey” were part of Cook’s set. “Flesh Heads” and “Loosen Up” were part of John Birney’s set.
Elisabeth Williamson, Matthew Fowler, Katherine Archer, Kensley Stewart, Kim Brown, Larry Langston, Rob Langston, Sandi Knapp, Tyler Bergeron, Robbie Litt and Ty Cowell helped bring an end to the semifinals round.
“Home” and “Down South” were part of Williamson’s set. “Thank You” and “What I Am” were part of Fowler’s set. “New Jersey Transit” and “Magical Place” were part of Archer’s set. “Rosewood” and “Trouble” were part of Stewart’s set. “Came Up Empty” and “Perfectly Imperfect” were part of Brown’s set. “Brenda” and “The Pictures” were part of Larry Langston’s set. “Peanut Butter Mouth” and “The Devil’s Back Alley” were part of Rob Langston’s set. “Stone In My Shoe” and “Mind, Please Be Stronger” were part of Knapp’s set. “One Shot” and “J.J.” were part of Bergeron’s set. “Bound For Glory” and “Black, White and Blue” were part of Litt’s set. “Disco King of Downtown” and “No Strings Attached” were part of Cowell’s set.
Rob Langston, Larry Langston, Shea Birney, Peramas, Sherman, Bergeron, Stewart, Lee, Archer and Williamson advanced to the finals.
