Singer/songwriter competition to take place at White Lion Restaurant and Lounge

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—White Lion Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting the fourth annual singer/songwriter competition once a week, starting on Sept. 3. The contests will take place every Thursday for the entire month and they will run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The sponsors and partners for the event are: A Faster Horse Media, Nashville Sound Studio on Vilano, A1A Studio in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and The Narrow Magazine.
The event will be open to solo artists. They were encouraged to sign up at the White Lion Restaurant and Lounge. The event was designed to display the talents of the singer/songwriters from the St. Augustine, Fla. area and surrounding areas, as well. They hope to assist them with reaching new heights, through various businesses from nearby businesses.
For the opening and second round, there will be approximately 20 singer/songwriters. The top 10 musicians from each round will be selected to participate in the semi-finals. From the semi-finals, the top 10 will advance to the finals. The finals will take place on Sept. 24 and it will feature the top 10 musical acts. The top three performers will win prizes.
Prizes for the White Lion Restaurant and Lounge’s Singer/Songwriter Competition include: $1,000 cash prize, a gig package, a professional photo shoot via A Faster Horse Media, 10 hours of studio time at Nashville Sound Studio on Vilano, five hours of studio time at A1A Studio in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and a feature article in The Narrow Magazine.
Rules for the fourth annual White Lion Restaurant and Lounge’s Singer/Songwriter are: all songs must be original works written by the artist, artists are to perform two songs each, the contest is open to those 21 years of age and older, artists must perform a new song if they proceed to the next round, there will be no time limit, encouraged to be mindful of the other competitors, all artists must arrive at 8:45 p.m. and the artists will be chosen randomly. They are encouraged to be ready too. Those being disrespectful to the acts (fellow artist or spectator) will be asked to leave the venue.
