Fla.—ZEX will be making three tour stops in Fla., in May. They will be on tour promoting their newest album, “Fight For Yourself”. The first stop will take place at Uncle Lou’s in Orlando on May 12. Then, they will travel to A-Space in Gainesville and perform at Betty’s Grill. Lastly, they will be performing at Sluggo’s in Pensacola on May 17. They will release a brand new seven inch single, “Fear No Man”, along the way.
Gab Sex is the bassist, Gretchen Steel is the vocalist and Jo Capitalicide is the guitarist of ZEX.
“Fight For Yourself” was distributed independently in Canada. When Magic Bullet Records noticed their fan base due to constant touring and work ethic, they helped rerelease and distribute the album internationally. It is ZEX’s first LP and it is available on a variety of formats including digital, CD and 12 inch wax. There are two variants of the wax record, one is black and the other is clear. The recently re-released 10 track album was recorded at Meatlock Studio with Paul Yogi Granger in Ottawa. It was then mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, Ore.

During the fall of 2014, ZEX embarked on a world tour. First, they started in their home country of Canada. Then, they toured parts of Asia including: Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. In the spring of 2014—they embarked on the “Wanderlust Tour”, continued on to the South Pacific Ocean and toured Austalia and New Zealand. During the tour, they managed to book Do It Yourself (DIY) concerts in nearly 20 cities. Tragedy struck, shortly after they had returned home. Vassil Mester, touring drummer of ZEX, passed away. In the honor of his passing, they released a tribute video of him performing on the last tour. The video can be accessed by clicking here.
